Dena Feng and Yvette Huang
Jamie Lan and Denny Wen, who headed up the team marketing a home stay in an authentic Hakka village. (Click here for their blog.)
Alex Su and Dena Feng
(Front row, left to right) Cherry Chuang, Liang Lu, Emma Zhu, Linda Hsieh, Charlene Tai (Back row left to right) Roddick Kong, Ronnie Lin, me, Theresa Chang. They were the team who created and advertised the cosmetic product Magic Cream. (Click here for their blog.)
Carrie Lin, Mickey Hu, me, Yvette (teacher), Helen (teacher), Claire Wan, Alan Hsia. These students created and marketed the idea of a computer program that helps women plan their wardrobe for the day. It was their own idea. As it turned out, computer problems destroyed their advertisement not just once but twice. I told them that how they handle crises was a major part of advertising and marketing. I also told them that I'd take their problems and their persistence in mind when I graded them. As it turned out, it wasn't necessary. They did a superb job.

In time, I'll try to find all the student's video advertisements and place them on the blog. You'll be impressed at their work.
Carrie Lin, Fay Lin, Agnes Ku, Kevin Chen, Justine O-yeh
Rita Hsu, Carrie Ke, Yvette Huang, me, Sherry Wu, Cathy Lin. This team came up with the Future Camera.
Their original idea was just a camera that showed how people would look in the future. Since they couldn't think of a benefit in such a camera as this, they added the idea of a GPS. When they suggested the GPS, I suggested that they add an Internet program that tells about interesting tourist spots nearby. They later added a homing device to find the camera if it gets lost. (Click here to see their blog.)
Carrie and me.
(Front) May Lee (back row) Me, Alex Su, Jiary Lai, Sunny Chen. Jiary, with May and Sunny were created the Jesla Foods advertising and marketing campaign. They actually created a real fruit vinegar and put it in real bottles bearing the Jesla label. (Click here for their blog.)
Carrie Lin and me. Carrie's original idea was a computerized closet that helped women plan their wardrobe for the day. I convinced her that an Internet program that fulfilled this function would be less costly for their customers and would take up no space in women's homes.
Dena Feng and me. Dena was perhaps the most important member of Carrie Lin's team. Dena and I discussed how the computer service could work. Dena then "took the ball and ran with it."
Dena didn't weigh much.
Fay Lin. Fay and her team created a bra that can be worn as stylish outerwear. They called it the Lobanton bra. (Click here to see their blog)
Fay Lin's team had their share of problems with their Lobanton. Mainly, it was hard to come up with a design that was noticeably different but which, at the same time, could be popular among women.
Fay and her team succeeded with both the design and the video advertisement for the the Lobanton. The rest of the marketing and advertisement program was less of a challenge. I was proud of Fay and her team.
Lawrence Tsai. During the second semester, Lawrence was a one-man team advertising and marketing Greenhill Taiwan-grown coffee. There actually is a coffee producer in Taiwan. Taiwanese prefer the taste of this coffee, but they don't buy it because it's offered in very few outlets. Very few outlets offer it because very few Taiwanese buy it. I suggested to Lawrence that he find a way to break the impasse.
Because he was a one-man advertising and marketing team, Lawrence asked me to cut him some slack in grading his final exam project. He wondered if his project should cover fewer areas, or if I wanted him to do all areas but be more generous in grading. I told him that I'd rather he do a few things well than to do all things just so-so.
(Right) Cherry Chuang and me. Cherry was another Magic Cream advertiser and marketer on Theresa's team.
Stella Shui (left) and Linda Hsieh (right) were other members of Teresa's Magic Cream team.
Liang Lu was yet another on Theresa's Magic Cream team.
Congratulations, Liang!
Congratulations, Liang!
Paul Pang was the number two member of Lester Lee's team developing, marketing, and advertising the Lester Alive, a cell phone watch. Their team was very slow in catching on. At first, their work looked as though the team had never attended my class. They were, however, persistent. Email by email, communication by communication, their work improved; and they turned in a fine project paper and video advertisement.
